1. Who we are

Quickin Limited ("Quickin", "we", "us") is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 06567159, with its registered office at 13 Alexander Road, Birmingham, England, B27 6ER. We work in fire protection, insulation and solar systems, and we develop the applications and browser extensions that support that work. This policy explains how we handle personal data across our website, our applications and our browser extensions (together, the "Services").

For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, Quickin Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach our privacy contact at privacy@quickin.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

Data you give us

• Contact details — your name, email address and any message you send us by email.
• Account details — where a Quickin application requires an account, the identifiers needed to create and secure it.
• Content you enter — survey notes, measurements, project details and similar information you choose to put into our tools.

Data collected automatically

• Technical data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and the pages or screens you view, collected in server logs for security and reliability purposes.
• Diagnostic data — error reports and crash information, used to fix faults.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising cookies and does not share data with advertising networks.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices they use. Google Analytics sets cookies, so it is switched off until you accept it on the banner shown on your first visit. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.

• quickin_consent — a strictly necessary first-party cookie that remembers your choice for 6 months. It contains only the word "granted" or "denied".
• _ga, _ga_<id> — set by Google Analytics only after you accept, to distinguish visitors. Expire after 2 years.

IP addresses are anonymised before processing, and Google Consent Mode is configured so that advertising and personalisation signals stay denied at all times. You can change your mind whenever you like using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Google's own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Where a Quickin application uses cookies, they are strictly necessary cookies used to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. Any further non-essential cookie would be introduced only with your consent.

3. Browser extensions

Quickin browser extensions operate only on the sites listed in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing and permissions. They do not read your general browsing history, and they do not transmit page content to us except where that is the explicit purpose of a feature you have activated. Each extension's store listing sets out its permissions and the reason each one is needed.

4. Why we use your data and our legal basis

• To provide the Services — performance of a contract with you.
• To secure the Services and prevent abuse — our legitimate interests in keeping the Services safe.
• To respond to your enquiries — our legitimate interests in dealing with correspondence.
• To fix faults and improve reliability — our legitimate interests in maintaining a working product.
• To comply with legal obligations — where the law requires it.

Where we rely on consent — for example, to set analytics cookies — you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host our infrastructure, deliver email or provide error monitoring, acting on our instructions under a written contract.
• Google, as the provider of Google Analytics, but only where you have accepted analytics cookies.
• Professional advisers such as auditors or lawyers, where necessary.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose data or need to establish or defend legal claims.
• A successor entity, if Quickin or part of it is reorganised or acquired — in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred data.

6. How long we keep data

• Account and application data — for as long as your account is active, and for up to 12 months afterwards, unless you ask for earlier deletion.
• Email correspondence — up to 24 months from the last message.
• Server and security logs — up to 90 days.

7. How we protect data

We use TLS for data in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access control limiting access to staff who need it, and routine patching of our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take these measures seriously and review them regularly.

8. Your rights, including deletion

Depending on where you live, you have rights to access a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@quickin.co.uk. We respond within one month, and action deletion requests within 30 days. You will not be charged, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the UK you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EEA you may complain to your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where that happens we rely on an adequacy decision or on Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK Addendum, so that your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.

10. Children

The Services are intended for business and professional use and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email privacy@quickin.co.uk and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services develop. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will notify you before it takes effect.
